Asakura is one of the scarce sculptresses in Japan who acted at the forefront of sculpture world. Her way is to create modern and sophisticated image of women, as if seeing one scene of daily life. There women are depicted lovely and nobly as they are; this is the great attractiveness of Asakura's art. This piece shows her characteristics well, being fashionable and elegant.
