Born in Numata, Gunma in 1927. After graduating from Tokyo Fine Arts School (present Tokyo University of the Arts) Sculpture Department, he became assistant professor at Joshibi University of Art and Design, Arts Department. Since he won the Coterie Prize of Niki-Kai Exhibition in 1966, he mainly presented his works there. In 1967, he opened the sculpture class in Joshibi University of Art and Design Junior College.
Prizes: Kikuka Prize in Niki-Kai Exhibiton, Guest participation in the 2nd Kotaro Takamura Grand Prize Exhibition, Utsukushi-ga-hara Open-Air Museum Prize, Prime Minister Prize of Niki-Kai Exhibition, and others.
