「The Accordionist」

Ossip Zadkine (1890-1967)

Zadkine is a Cubism sculptor from Russia and played an active part mainly in France. He was inspired by the primitive art of Africa and Polynesia just as Picasso and other Cubism artists were, and adopted it into his style. This piece was produced in 1962 as the remake of that in 1924 under the same theme. Unlike the former which he made while searching for his own way, this one has a calm and quiet ambience.
