Henry Moore, the British great master, is one of the representative sculptors in 20th century. Regardless whether his style is abstract or concrete, it is certain that he persistently pursued concrete subjects such as reclining figure. This piece is one of the series of human statues. Born in Castleford, middle England. After Lees Arts University, he entered Royal College of Art in 1921 and became the lecturer of sculpture department there in 1924. His brilliant worldwide activity thereafter is well known. In 1946 his first large retrospective exhibition was held in the Museum of Modern Art, New York. While winning the praise of the world, he passed away at age 88 in 1986.
